I thought it was a good episode; no standout sketches but most were B quality. Krasinski fit in well, even though he played it straight for the most part. He definitely wasn’t a cue card reading stiff and was obviously enjoying himself. Good to see Aidy back too. Jost & Che were the best part of Update; both had some good lines. No stunt casting or guests was a good thing. I didn’t think Machine Gun Kelly was awful, it was funny when he & Pete fell off the stage during the goodbyes just as they cut.
This episode felt subpar. While a few sketches had good ideas they didn’t seem to work when acted out on stage. A lot of jokes didn’t land with the audience.
I left during weekend update with the Scorsese/lebowitz part. Bleh

To be fair, his last album was produced by Travis Barker and is more similar to that kind of music from fifteen or twenty years ago than to what the kids these days are into.
Beck Bennet rules and his my pillow guy had me rolling.

The Blue Georgia was awkwardly funny. Some of the jokes didnt land at all and i kind of loved it.
Co-signed. Game night, sex rat, the loser, my pillow, and subway all cracked me up. I think not watching it live helps. I just watch the clips on Youtube the next day. Sets the bar lower in my mind which leads to more lols.

That’s exactly the vibe I was picking up on. A more guitar driven, garage band sound compared to today’s pop music but something I would have hated circa 2003. Good Charlotte was what I was specifically reminded of. It didn’t give me “this is music?”, old man feeling some SNL musical guest give me.
Yeah I liked a lot of this episode. Definitely songs misses but overall enjoyable. I certainly thought much of it was funnier than the studio audience did.
