I liked Sandler Family Reunion too, even if they've similar sketches before. McKinnon's Sheila was back and it got few laughs from me too, as did Romano Tours. It was an okay episode overall though. Update was weak.

Better than average this week with Emma Thompson. Her monologue was one of the season's best and she was in all the sketches, or so it seemed, where she brought her well established Acting chops to elevate an otherwise generic evening. I also didn't realize she got her start in the British improve group that produced the likes of Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. Update was particularly good this week too. A good episode but nothing especially stood out as memorable. Finale next week.

An uneven finale to an uneven season. Some laughs, Rudd was his usual charming and willing self, and an above average Update but nothing really memorable. McKinnon's alien abductee was back to diminishing returns but she sold climbing over Paul Rudd (credit for keeping a straight face). The first new Kyle & Leslie pretaped sketch in a while was pretty good. I probably would have liked the Grace & Frankie bit if I watched the show. Cicely Strong got the most screen time and you can't help but wonder why she hasn't been better used this season. There's some speculation she may be leaving, along with McKinnon and Aidy. Keenan had a pilot picked up so he may well (finally?) be on the way out too. I'm sure there will be some cast changes though and if any of the women do leave my guess is you'll see Heidi Gardner ascend up the ladder. Melissa Villasenior has some great impressions but hasn't done much beyond that. I'd like to see Chris Redd get more work.
