I remember back in ‘94 the next to last episode of the season was Emilio Estevez and Pearl Jam and the season finale was Heather Locklear and Janet Jackson.
Hell of a memory you got. I know I watched the PJ ep. But I don't think I saw the Jackson ep.
I recorded both episodes at my girlfriend’s place so I wouldn’t miss anything if we happened to be in a coital circumstance.
Ha!
Remember when you had to think about and pre-plan shit like that? What a world we live in now.
I know, right?!? And if the time on your vcr wasn’t the exact same as that of the network you were doomed to miss at least a few seconds.

I recorded both on VHS.
Every now and then I’d get stuck at my dad’s office for whatever reason and I watched these several times each there, because no cable at the office.

Peyton on Weekend Update was good; he’s such a natural on screen. Otherwise another so-so episode at best. Break for the Olympics but John Mulany hosts for the 5th time on February 26. That could be fun.

First of three new episodes return tonight. After Mulaney it's going to be Oscar Isaac and Zoe Kravitz hosting with musical guest Charlie XCX and Rosalia.

I’m psyched for Isaac/XCX.
Less so for Mulaney. His last episode kind of stunk and he seems to be in a weird place. I’ll definitely watch but I’m kind of thinking he’s peaked as a performer.
Guys, I am not a moderator! I swear to God! Why does everyone think I'm a moderator?

Yeah new one wasn’t very good.
Also to trag’s point about Mulaney; holding his kid at the end credits seemed over the top shitty. “Hey ex wife, check out my kid i had with the woman i cheated on you with”

Was that the shortest Update in a long time?
it was soooo much better than the typical, bring out two or three characters and have them be interviewed where the skit goes on waayy too long. i really wish they would bag those things for good.

The Behind The Slime skit was funny.
Those two sketches were my favorites too. I like Mulaney’s monologue and he made Monkey Judge work. Update was quick & brief due the time the 5 Timers and Subway review took up. I liked the steady, quick jokes too. Lobster Bisque was so good in a new & unexpected way for Mulaney’s first hosting gig but now that a big, costumed song production piece with NYC references is expected from his episodes they have not been as good. This one was fine but once you saw the subway set you knew what was coming. Good episode all around, or at least above average for the season.

I think you mean short Update due to the time the two FORTY-FIVE MINUTE long LCD Soundsystem songs took up!
