I thought it was a decent episode. I actually liked the virus sketch, and the Dionne Warwick & Rap Roundtable sketches were both pretty good. Chalamet did a good job; he seemed to play off Pete Davidson particularly well and did his best to make the Tiny Horse pre-tape worth watching. Talented kid; I remember seeing him on Homeland.
I thought the Springsteen songs both sounded very generic. He certainly has some songs I like over his long career but I'm just a casual fan as well.

Totally agree.

I'll add that I loved the Tiny Horse bit. Looks like I'm in the minority there, but I thought it was funny, weird, and charming.

Good start to tonight’s episode. I hadn’t heard anything about Carrey leaving the show, I thought he was supposed to be there all season.

I hate when they show the percussionist during commercial breaks because you can’t ever hear her even a little bit

Ugh ended with dua lipa

Mixed bag, this episode. Nothing worth seeing after update.

Christmas Morning pre-taped segment was the best. Secret Word got a few laughs me. Great to see Willie back on Update. Other than that a very average episode.
I had heard the Carrey would not be returning as Biden, I too thought he was going to be there for the season. I’m okay with that; his portrayal never grew on me and didn’t generate the buzz as Baldwin’s Trump.
Jost said that was last Update with Trump as President? When do they return? Hard to believe they’ll be off a full month. They’ve an odd schedule this season.

My guess is it's to limit staff travel/transmission. Better to have everyone in NYC for a month, do a bunch of episodes, then give them a month off with (presumably) quarantine and testing guidelines before returning.

I had a lot of fun with that episode. Not perfect, some duds, buy mostly fun. I laughed a lot.

Dua Lips is great. I really need to revisit her new album. I haven't listened to it in months.

I was hoping they'd bring Sudekis back for his Biden. I always thought he was the best one.

A run of new episodes start next week. I guess February sweeps are still a thing?

Jan 30: John Krasinski/Machine Gun Kelly
Feb 6: Dan Levy/Phoebe Bridgers
Feb 13: Regina King/Nathaniel Rateliff

Fresh episodes Feb 20 & 27 with hosts/musical guests TBA
