We're three (out of four) episodes into the new series and I regret to tell you all that it's terrible.
Man, they blew it. They really blew it.
I thought it started to find its rhythm again by the fourth episode, but it definitely felt "off" for the first two. And the extended song and dance sequences were interminable. Overall I enjoyed it, but I don't have anything resembling sophisticated taste in television or film.

Yeah, i get what people are saying, i get that there were characters that felt shoehorned there, and there were weird sequences as well, but pretty much every episode was strong enough to get my attention...and they felt like they were going somewhere with Lorelei, Rory and Emily. Those three arcs were pretty nice.
It felt like the good riddance i needed for them as well.
Maybe it's because I'm a loyal to a fault. Or maybe it's because I binged watched the entire original series in the span of two months
But, guys....
I didn't have a big problem with the new mini series. It was uneven overall, sure. But so was the original series. It captured four different tones/angles/sides of the original and it had all the same heart and weirdness. It really wasn't all that different from the original, really. The writing wasn't as strong but it was also only four episodes. So the inconsistencies sort of stick out more, maybe?
Anyway, I really love Gilmore Girls. It's one of absolute favorite things. I'm so fucking happy that I watched this show.

Mrs Wease started watching this a few months back. She’s in the fifth season, I think. She’ll watch an episode or two while I’m reading. These girls talk fast. I like the Luke guy, tho.
