They love them some Ben-Ben. Wasn't he one of the directors WB courted hardcore to get to direct MoS? Am I making that up?
This is true.
I like him as a director, but I'm still waiting for him to have a distinct voice. He seems to play it safe and direct a by the numbers plot every time. Yes, he has a love for Boston that comes out in Gone Baby Gone & The Town, but I'm waiting for a passion project of his that will set him apart.
Affleck is a solid actor, but he might actually top Michael Keaton for "Really? Reallllly???" At least Keaton could play Bruce Wayne in a weirdly dark way that made him fit into Burton's world.
Honestly, Pearl Jam has lightnados, Ben Affleck is going to be Batman in the follow-up to a really stupid Superman movie, I got to watch Into Darkness again last night....I haven't laughed this hard in a long, long time.

Excuse me, Keaton is still the best batman. The sooner you understand that the better.

It's hard for me to know for sure. I can't separate him from the Burtonizing, and there are few things in this world that sound sexier to me than Tim Burton losing all his limbs in a mangling accident and subsequently being left in a dungeon with a feeding tube and a hole (placed on a small hill in the corner of the room...good look, Tim!) to poop in.

jesus...Ed Wood & Big Fish are pretty good I thought.
I think he will be fine. People flipped when Mr. Mom got the role and I remember being very public about how upset I was about some guy from broke back being the joker. I actually enjoyed man of steel.

I mean I want to see what he does with it. Modern-day Affleck has a sense of nuance and intensity that was absent from his hammy tendencies from 10 years ago. "Argo" was a great performance. It could be good.
I loved Argo as a film, but I still thought Affleck was really flat. He did his job, but his direction stole the show, for me. He was probably the least interesting actor on screen. But, yes, he has come a long way. I used to fucking hate that guy as actor.
Is this next movie gonna be a superman and batman movie or the superman sequel with batman appearing in it for a bit? And is afleck gonna be Bruce Wayne or someone who takes over as batman now that Bruce has retired?
