The big reveal this week has some promise for what’s to come but I’m still having a hard time caring about any of it.
So much of it, the action in particular, is pedestrian. And while I love Aaron Paul, it’s never felt like I’m watching an adult in that role. The wig doesn’t help.
That quarry explosion looked terrible. Maeve was far enough away to get a coating of dust, not be blown to bits.
And they needed a high-powered fan to blow away a few feet of sand?
Blah.

The last two episodes have been very strong.

It's certainly more propulsive than last season. I think Christina's story is where they're going to mess with timelines this season--still not sure if it's happening concurrently with Bernard/Stubbs/the MiB.

Strong episode. Aaron was great.

Good stuff. Maeve versus Halores featured some decent stunt work for a change.

I heard this theory that Hamlet is the shadow text of Westworld this season. Big Ophelia vibes from "Christina" in this episode.

- Spoiler: show
- So is next week the series finale? Or are we going to getting a final season of Westworld: The Purge.

Don't know if a spoiler is necessary, but:
- Spoiler: show
- From what I understand, the creators have talked about it being a 5-season show. So one more. I don't know if it's been renewed officially, but I am sure it will be.

Overall, this season was an improvement but they’ve never been able to recapture the magic of season one. It just feels like Joy and Nolan don’t have the right crew in place to pull off what this could be at its best. I’d be okay if that ends up being the series finale.

My guess is HBO won't let it happen but curious is another streamer would pick it up and finish it off with one more season (or two, to get their money's worth).
