How many movies/tv shows have pit Tyler Durden against Patrick Bateman?

i just mean that i feel like we've seen these characters before. that being said, i have confidence in this show to pull it all off.

Yeah, I know. I was just being a brat. Similar characters don't really bother me so much. There isn't much in the way of an original character any more anyway. And if we didn't have things like archetypes, theater would have died with the Greeks.

Also, I don't think our lead is all that much like Tyler Durden. I mean, kinda. I can see why someone would make that connection. But it feels.... thin. But I haven't seen this most recent episode.

there are theories that mr. robot is a figment of elliot's imagination or even schizophrenia.

There were scenes in episode two or three where I said to Mrs Rangi - 'Oh, so that guy's pretty much Patrick Bateman', and then that scene where Elliot's in his boss' office looking like he's just been beaten up that whole thing looked and sounded like it could have just been lifted from Fight Club

That would be a bummer, actually.

if chris h 2 watched this show, he'd be berating me for spoilering the plot.

That pilot was definitely the best episode so far, unfortunately. I'm still watching this though.

Is this the case? If so, I'm out. I've already done the whole "I see dead people" trip.

I'm just a few eps in, but noticed that the bartender didn't seem to notice Christian Slater at all during the apple-tini scene. Ugh.

I don't think this is the case. But I do think that the Slater character isn't the true "Mr. Robot", but rather a messenger/communicator for whoever/whatever is. This show is still really good. This and Humans have been a nice treat this summer. Glad to see both coming back for season 2.
