Tried to watch fleabag the other day. Right at the beginning when she’s stressed and worried that her butt hole might be enormous I knew the show was not for me

I had the exact opposite reaction.
all that buildup and the breaking of the 4th wall for that punchline.. and the way it's edited I was so turned off. Like it's trying to hook you by being shocking and hilarious and it just struck me so hard as being very lame. This is not the kind of punchline I have patience for.

first season gets stronger at the end. There is a pretty cool twist there. Second season is just awful. The whole hot priest thing seems like the A1 of some girl´s fever dream.
the priest character is awfully written, really obvious. Reminded me of Adam from Girls.

To each their own.
Fleabag is, for my money, one of the greatest TV shows of all time. I found it fresh, honest, insightful, hilarious, poignant, exquisite, and downright brilliant.

yeah my taste for comedy can be pretty specific. This and Friends are like drinking toilet water for me. And lots of people apparently love both shows. Maybe it gets better. But if the rest of the show is anything like that opening scene, no way.

I do love both of those shows. But man are they wildly different styles of comedy.

It's pretty great. Haven't watched much, but the few clips I've seen have cracked me up. There was a big article about them a while back (WaPo maybe?), and just last week I saw a guy wearing a shirt with their name on it. They are carving out a unique absurdist niche.

About half way through and it's great. Captures what made Rouge One the best Star Wars movie.

Awesome. I’m hooked. Looks like the longer podcasts are only partial shtick, which I dig.
