Somewhere between parody and pastiche. It's parodic when the voiceover says something like "if you do nothing, then you risk nothing, which is risking everything." It's pastiche when the subsequent scene is played straight. Satire, for me, requires an objective, something more salient than an awareness of the vacuousness of a set of formal tropes. This is less Mel Brooks and more Scary Movie. Look, women do be spilling wine on TV shows, they do be staring at their neighbors and forming sinister conclusions. For me this isn't compelling enough to sacrifice four hours of my life.

Tried watching Battlestar Galactica a couple of times and I find it unwatchable garbage. I don't get the hype.

This is how I feel about The Expanse. I watched an episode and it was pure garbage.

Totally disagree about BSG. It's fantastic.

Totally agree with The Expanse. Couldn't do it.

I'm committed to giving The Expanse another shot. I only watched the first episode and a lot of shows have terrible first episodes and end up being amazing. I'll give it another shot one of these days. Probably after The Foundation.

Short-lived 80s sitcom starring Geena Davis. Stickman will be pleased to know Bill Maher is also in this.

I think I just discovered a way to finally cancel Bill Maher. His character is a monster by today's standards.

One of the worst 80s/90s tv tropes is the nagging mother of the main characters. Just death.

There are a lot of dead parents in 80s sitcoms.
