I think I dislike - for some reason - Ben Stiller much more. Perhaps it's because I Chris Farley, and Mr. Sandler did some great stuff with Mr. Farley.
I think his last reasonable movie would've been 50 First Dates. Click was ok, but could've been so much better. Funny People was worse than having your asshole bleached. The Grown Ups movies are just a shitty excuse to help out his poor struggling SNL buddies David Spade, Rob Schnieder, etc. with paid jobs because nobody else will employ them.
Adam Sandler was great on SNL, and did some pretty good movies early in his career. I just think he struggled to move beyond the typical character of underdog/crazy/nice guy. I mean, how many fucking movies do we need about the same guy?
If he could move beyond his typical 2 dimensional character/humour, he may make better movies. Sadly I think it's too late for him to bother now. Maybe a Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison sequel could be his swan song?
I can't understand why we were robbed of the amazing talent of Robin Williams, but we're still stuck with putrid second rate regurgitators of butt/fart/penis comedy. How many millions of dollars are paid to repeat offenders like Sandler for each sub par movie?
The price is wrong bitch!
