I think this is from Forrest Gump but I'm not sure.
I am thinking of a scene where the male character is talking about having a child and he's crying a little and says something to the effect of "he's gonna grow up to be smart, not like me"...something like that.
I can picture the scene but can't put my finger on it. The character who delivers the line is developmentally disabled/awkward but for some reason I'm just not picturing Tom Hanks.

I figured out what I was thinking of. I was confusing this with the Godfather scene where Fredo was whining about getting passed over because he is "smart and deserves respect."
We could use this as an all purpose "help with a movie quote" thread. There are plenty of times that I need help with movie quotes. Now I have a place to turn.

Wow. I don't know what to say. This is pretty surreal.
First I'd like to thank God for giving me this opportunity. If we're lucky, we all get one chance to truly make something of ourselves in this life and I'm just so grateful that my opportunity came along and I was able to embrace it.
I would also like to thank my parents who always told me that hard work pays off, and if I make over 1,000 posts on the Red Mosquito forum, maybe - just maybe - a day like this would come.
And finally I would like to thank my true inspiration, Lily Carter.
