hey M_D (or anyone else using YoutubeTV)... have you had problems with video not loading after commercial breaks? i'm watching through Roku, and this happens quite often to me. the only fix that i'm aware of is to exit the entire app, then reload the video from where i left off... the best part is it replays the same 5 commercials i just sat through.

Ran into that exact issue last night. Never had that problem with our Smart TV though.

Using a Roku too?

I chatted with YouTube TV support last night, and they had me uninstall the app, reinstall it, power cycle and reboot the roku, then log back into YTTV. We’ll see if that works.

Yes, using a Roku. No problems through the Smart TV's app.

just got Hoopla. It connects to your library account and you can stream tons of movies/tv on demand for free. Y'all should look at it.

Hoopla's good, does Kanopy have an app? I know I have one on my phone but I'm not sure if it's on Roku or Fire TV.

I’m lost...is Kanopy like Hoopla or Netflix, or is it like Roku or AppleTV?

It is like a fire stick, chrome cast, or apple tv. But it is called Roku. And was around before all of those.

For the most part yes. But like some tv's that come with amazon fire built in, I think there are some that have Roku built in as well. It is just another device to download streaming apps on to.

It’s a proprietary technology that is available both as a stand-alone box/gadget, or can be irrevocably pre-installed on certain TVs and serve as the base operating system.

Also, a simple typing of the letters R-O-K-U into Google might have helped answer your question.

It also doesn't seem to be tangled up in the corporate pissing contest of streaming services. Pretty much everything comes to Roku (Google, Apple, Amazon, etc.).
