It's weird that when you search RM for thread titles containing the word "Saul," this one doesn't come up as a result.
Anyway, since we're treating this thread as a kind of catch-all Bob Odenkirk thread, here's a charity auction where you can bid to have Bob Odenkirk and David Cross join you for dinner. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186072286633?h ... 8c27960c98

hard pass on David Cross, $100 says he's annoying in real life

He's fucking hilarious - will absolutely wager you that $100.

Watched this recently for the first time. It’s good, entertaining. Before I ever watched it I was told by multiple people that’s it’s better than Breaking Bad and now I know that’s just laughable. While the last season had good moments, it was a pretty big drop off overall. The lead actors simply were not able to pull off certain crucial scenes.
The scene where Jimmy and Kim are being held hostage in their condo by Lalo after Howard got shot was embarrassing for both Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn.
Jonathon Banks in the co-lead role as Mike was really great throughout the series. He enhanced every scene he was in and his character was essential because Odenkirk is best in more of a supporting role than he is as lead.

Not laughable for me. I think BCS is much better than Breaking Bad, a show that has aged pretty badly

So much yes

Better Call Saul is on a different league than Breaking Bad.
I appreciate BB because it gave us Saul basically.
Don't think can or should be compared. Both fantastic for different reasons. Two of the best TV non comedies of all time, maybe the best. Only shows that come close are Wire & Sopranos. Atlanta is in a different category.

Discontinue the Emmys.
Because maybe the best show of the last decade went 0-53? It’s not even funny. Much like best comedy series The Bear. Love that show, but I don’t laugh at it a lot. I almost started smoking again during the Christmas episode. Never felt such stress and dread while watching Seinfeld.
Everything is political and subjective, but the Emmy's usually do ok compared to other award shows in finding the "right" nominees for the year (other than their love for traditional sitcoms and Homeland). I wish they would have different categories for 30 and 60 minute dramas, however (ex. The Bear, Barry, Atlanta, etc.).

Apparently, The Bear is a comedy.

Got through S2E07 'Forks' last night and this fact came up a few times in conversation

Right. These award shows tend to put any 30 minute show into the "comedy" category. Seems very antiquated.
