For those reading this, the piece of information I had forgotten that is helpful to know right away is that during the last novel, Winston Duarte stole a bunch of Martian ships and took them through the Laconia gate and then threatened to kill anyone else that came through that gate.
I had a hard time getting up to speed, b/c I didn't remember that and couldn't figure out who the fuck these "Laconian" people were.
The first three seasons arrived on Prime Video here today. I've seen the first two on Netflix, and also read the books. But I'm glad they are finally on Prime now, and look forward to the fourth season.
They kinda glossed over the need to shoot the crew up with chemicals to accelerate. I would have probably been confused there if I hadn't read the book.
And I guess you have to tone down the protomolecule for TV. So no "the Thing" in space.
Caught up. Fun show. Naomi and Holden get on my nerves sometimes, but otherwise I like it a lot. That last storyline with the gates got off to a rough start, but really turned around.
