Upon hearing that James Ellroy and David Fincher are working together on an HBO series, I started to think how cool an 8 episode series based on LA Confidential or The Black Dahlia could be.

In other words, this thread should be "Stores or concepts that were created as books and adapted to movies and might be cool if rethought of as television series"
