Alan Rickman.
No one answered this one, so I'm going to.
It's a very close call for me, since Rickman is consistently fantastic. Galaxy Quest is a personal favorite of mine. I don't like the Harry Potter movies, but he is memorably great in them. His hilariously over-the-top villain role in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is amazing. But, in the end, I just have to go with Hans Gruber in Die Hard. That is the antagonist performance I judge all others against. Intense, scary, manipulative, untrustworthy, but also a little pathetic and funny - Rickman just OWNS that character. The accent and beard probably help a lot, too.

JCVD. He is shockingly good.
Kurt Russell.
That's one of my favorite performances ever.
I'm gonna say Soldier. Much of his performance is wordless, but the earnestness, the longing, the confusion, the humanity that pours out of Russell is palpable.
