What's this about LV's return to RM? I know you've been around less since the new job. Did you quit that job or something?

No, I started posting many years ago when I was like 14. Then I left when I was like 17 or something. I just came back a year or two ago.

LOVE Southland Tales. :bammer:

I prefer Donnie Darko, though I don't expend you to agree on that. Either way, Southland Tales is excellent.

Any opinions on The Box?

The worst of the three. But I still enjoyed well enough for what it is. It's uneven. A better idea maybe than execution but it's not a bad movie by any stretch. There's stuff to like, for sure, but it's a bit of a chore and not as gripping or tense as it should be. It's the only on of Kelly's films that I've seen just once, so my memory is fuzzy. I recall Diaz being just fucking terrible but all of the smaller players being great (Langella, Rebhorn, Holmes).

Hmm. I have been skipping The Box in my queue for a while now, perhaps I can let it go.

LV, what are your opinions of Richard Kelly, specifically The Box? Should trag drop it from his queue?

Hey LV, I'm watching Resident Evil: Afterlife right now (very underrated). How hot is Ali Larger in this?!

I didn't see this until now. I've only seen Donnie Darko.

Haha, on SyFy? I was watching it for a while too. Definitely a good movie.

Nope, I feel the opposite now.

I do like it, though I liked it a lot more when I was younger. I think the action setpieces hold up very well, and it has some great performances from a great cast, but a lot of it feels...lightweight? It's a little silly.

I do think the contrast between the theatrical and extended cuts is interesting, though. The former is pretty lean, and plays like a revenge-fueled action movie. The latter is almost a political thriller, full of backdoor machinations and talky tangents. I'm not sure if one or the other is better; they're just very different.

I loved Braveheart when I watched it semi-recently. I thought it had aged much better than Gladiator. I love Mel.

Do they cut off the whole package (dick and nuts) in one swoop during a castration or do they just do one or the other (and if so which one)?
