in this thread, we ask loathedvermin for his thoughts on pop culture, art, and--dare i suggest--aesthetics in general.
i'll start: did godzilla in godzilla (2014) look fat to you?

Do you think art is better when it is technically proficient or practiced more liberally? That is, at this point, has the cast of inspiration been sufficiently shaped by the trials of those before us, giving us the basic blueprint for effectiveness and leaving only proper application and execution to be attained by the artist, or should the struggle to break the mold or climb outside the box be a war waged eternally?

Should we consider Deep Blue Sea a classic?

Is storytelling inherently a ratiocinative task, or is creative construction bound by nature to be permeated with a deeper and less consciously-delivered expressive reality?
I'm asking for a friend.

are you asking me that? this thread is about loathedvermin doting on the tragic beauty of the lone crow atop a mountain of discarded dolls, in the background of a kick-ass movie about a full-on zombie attack.

Anyone can answer. I hate knowing that I've let Dev down.
this goes beyond art.

Loathed, you claim that Godzilla is the best film of 2014, but don't you think that's taking the whole hipster-film-critic-thing a bit too far?

Rank the characters in AVP in order of gender neutrality.
