I watched the original Karate Kid last night, and I realized I had been reading this one scene wrong my whole life. After Daniel first meets Ali on the beach, and he's showing her how to juggle the ball, the Cobra Kai show up on their motorcycles on the dunes overlooking the beach. Ali seems to notice them, and she kicks the soccer ball away, telling Daniel to go get it.

For years, I had watched that scene and thought "Well that was rude." But last night I understood that she was trying to extricate Daniel from a potentially dangerous situation. Why did I never realize this before, I wonder? Is it because I'm an idiot, or because Ali's emotional exchange is executed so poorly?

So apparently Soderbergh's Unsane was shot entirely on an iphone 7 with the Filmic Pro app. Anyone used this app? now i want an iphone 7.

i'm ready now. my iphone 5 is on it's last legs, and i've got a growing interest in starting to dabble with film, so this seems like a cost effective solution...

i'm sure i could learn Final Cut X easy enough, but i'm sort of lost with regard to various filters/attachments for the iphone, plus now there are some dollies, steadicam rigs and the like for iphones. Any good insights on this stuff? like, is there a $500 starter pack or something that would get me the basic attachments one might need?

Final Cut X is the worst. Its all about Adobe Premiere again these days.

Havent seen Unsane yet, but im planning to.
