Yes comparing him to a young actor that has done five movies that you may have heard of seems about right
I don’t need to watch the Father movie to know exactly what Hopkins is doing in it and how little effort he’s putting in. Whereas the Sound of Metal performance is ducking monstrous

I kinda agree with Trag. He is a great actor, but he was mostly on autopilot for a looong time. Havent seen The Father nor i think i will ever see it tough.

Guys, I am not a moderator! I swear to God! Why does everyone think I'm a moderator?

You guys ever watch a movie you really like but there is one line or a few lines that just seem out of place and takes you out of it for a minute?
Blade Runner 2049 is on in the background while I'm working today. When Luv is watching K while he is down in the junkyard, she says "Get up, do your fucking job". It just seemed so out of place for her at that moment.
Also, in Interstellar, Hathaway's speech about love while they are in the spacecraft.

You think? He’s not in it enough to be distracting. Just there for a plot point
It’s just such an awkward tonal shift. Everything with Gosling is aces — even better than the original. Every time Ford is on screen it just feels silly to me. The ending was great though.

I loooooove everything about BR2049. I saw it on imax and it was transcendental. A piece of art.
