Anybody ever see Night Of The Hunter? I’d never heard of it before, and then I randomly got two different references to it, one in my social media feed and one in a book I’m reading, both this morning. Feels like a sign that maybe I should watch it?

I watched it in film school. I remember hating it at the time, felt super hokey, but I'd be down to rewatch it now that I'm not a surly teenager with a hangover

Did you generally find all films from that era to be super hokey, or just this one in particular? I like a lot of the older US films, but then I'll try to watch a Billy Wilder movie and just can't hang with the old acting style.

Chevy Chase’s career up & downs really have been all over the place.

This got me thinking... If Reservoir Dogs is "grunge", what about all the other kinds of movies?

flipping through starz and i see the tobey maguire spiderman series is on there...considering how highly lauded at the time, i'm just curious where you comic nerds would rate it against the rash of superhero movies we have now?

Baby’s blood drinking satanist Paul Rudd turns 52 today.
(That has to be how he’s kept his youth)

i don't mean what you liked and disliked about it, but how would it rate amongst the superhero movies since it's time

Don’t think the first two are rated up there with the last two avengers or the first two from the Dark Knight series, and other top movies (Ragnarok, Black Panther, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Zack Snyder’s Justice League) but they are still well liked movies.

However, the third one is considered quite poor.

Below all the Marvel movies and above all the DC except for Wonder Woman and Batman Begins.

My youngest loved the first two Paddington movies. Thinking he'll probably be too old by the time the third one comes out. Makes me a little sad.

As a 38 year old man who just declared his love for the Paddington movies, should I be insulted by this comment?
