The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Bong Joon-Ho and David Lowery are good picks. I haven't seen anything by the Safdie brothers or Reichardt. PT Anderson is one of those guys that... I almost always love his work but I just don't necessarily look forward to new stuff. I'm not sure why that is. I always just feel like, oh he has a new movie, I guess I'll see it one of these days, oh well...

Not “the best,” just the ones I’m most interested in right now:
Coens Reichardt Mann Joon-Ho Soderbergh
Also American Honey was pretty incredible. I’ve not seen any of Arnold’s other stuff but I can’t wait for her next one. Ditto Sean Baker/The Florida Project.

I don't know who three (four including the married couple) of these people are, so I've got some homework to do.

I think it was about 30 mins too long, and it's not so much that the story has stuck with; just the realness of it all. She made me feel like a fly on the wall of a weird subculture. And Shia was incredible.

ugh, stfu Ridley Scott. Maybe no one went to see your OK-not-great movie because we could tell you were trying really hard to teach us something.
Quote:
The Hollywood Reporter Scott’s explanation for the horrible box office performance of The Last Duel? Apathetic millennials.
“I think what it boils down to — what we’ve got today [are] the audiences who were brought up on these fucking cellphones. The millennian [sic] do not ever want to be taught anything unless you’re told it on a cellphone,” Scott said.
“This is a broad stroke, but I think we’re dealing with it right now with Facebook,” Scott added. “This is a misdirection that has happened where it’s given the wrong kind of confidence to this latest generation, I think.”
