Andy Greenwald’s “Stick the Landing” podcast covered The Leftovers beautifully last week. I was worried it would be “spoiler-y” for me before doing a rewatch, but it just got me excited to watch it again.

I'm excited to listen to that ep. Not I have to do the Girls one first.

I rewatched Girls the last couple weeks and got a good laugh from Marnie singing “Fast Car” to Hannah and her baby considering the song is back in the zeitgeist


Also, I’ve noticed a girl on the dating app Hinge who says that the Leftovers is her favorite show and it’s so underrated. I asked her if she thought Nora was telling the truth and she never messaged me back…

So far, in the run of the podcast, The Leftovers is the first show they've covered that I've actually watched. Hopefully there will be more soon.

Nvm, I guess there was an episode on The Office, I'll have to listen to that.

Freaks and Geeks is the only one so far that I haven't seen

Isn’t it weird that Matt is one of Kevin Sr’s best friends, but Kevin has never met Nora before, and doesn’t seem to know anything about her?

Anyway, I’m really enjoying my rewatch. It really, really picks up around Se01Ep06.

I think her and Matt were slightly estranged

Definitely, when he asks her for money in Episode 3, it seems like they hadn’t talked in a while. But then again, Jill and Aimee see the two of them hug in I think Episode 2? Honestly, it’s not a big deal, they were obviously still feeling out the characters and their relationships early on, it just struck me in Episode 9 when Matt gives the toast at the b-day party.

I mean, I don’t really fraternize with my dad’s friends. Do you?

There’s this TikTok trend going around right now that asks people to identify the hardest line in all fiction. I watched SE02EP06 today, and I hereby nominate the moment when Erica asks Nora if she recalls the last words her children said to her. Damn.
