No, I could list lots of movies that are "classics" that I like. 12 Angry Men, Barton Fink, Barry Lyndon, On the Waterfront, Lawrence of Arabia, etc. Or I could list 'critical love noise' type films from the last ten years...There Will Be Blood, Pan's Labyrinth, stuff like that (is Pan's Labyrinth really still the last ten years?). But that's not really the point you're making. So I'll up the ante and try to think of movies I liked that are just from the last two years or so.
I liked and did not scorn Edge of Tomorrow. In a similar way, Jack Ryan was an unexpectedly fun little action flick. Inside Llewyn Davis was good, although probably another one of the Cohen movies that needs a second viewing. I liked watching the performances in Wolf of Wall Street and American Hustle. Nebraska was great. World's End, too. I thought Her and Mud were both good movies. I want to see All is Lost, and expect to like it.
I'm forgetting something obvious, but I have a meeting to run to.

The first one was a pleasant surprise, certainly better than I expected going in. The second one was awful & I quit on it before it was over. Didn't even bother with #3 and doubt I'll ever see the one out now.

My parents are seeing this right now. Even after I told them how long it was (my dad hates long movies) and how bad it was. Their answer? "Well we saw the first three, so we have to see this one". :/

Also: who doesn't get financial aid these days? Bay was doing one of two things here: either (A) it was a biting commentary about how young people without the right sort of guidance aren't aware that the government is basically just giving money away for college or (B) he was being slyly racist, because the white girl didn't get money for college and that means that some minority somewhere got it over here. Although there's always (C): Michael Bay is a fucking idiot.

We can use this thread for the five of us who actually see it to discuss it.
i felt that same why while trying to make the finish with the last one.

is this, the fourth, even worse?
Yes and for two reasons. The first being the length of it is not needed. The second being they tease you with a very cool storyline concept then just abandon it halfway through the movie just to feature extra Stanley Tucci humorous antics.

horrible. i was never one to care much about storylines with these types of movies, but i just can't take sitting through end to end action sequences nowadays.

So I just talked to my buddy.
First of all, on an unrelated note, I mentioned the positive reviews of Apes and he shrugged that off. I believe the words were "It's still a movie about apes."
He turned down Transformers, but only because of how long it is (we always have to see 10:00 or later showings, and then we both get up at 5-6:00 the next day)...
...then followed it up by suggesting we go see 22 Jump Street.
