I enjoyed the season premiere last night, particularly the final act there.

The season's over half finished now but this thread has died. Anyone else still watching?

I watched the first episode and the one where everyone chokes. Both were pretty weak.

The noir episode was weird.

I’ve enjoyed the season but it hasn’t had any great episodes. I really liked the Noir episode. Think the weakest so far was Thundergun.

Yeah, the latest episode, the black & white one, has been the season highlight so far. It particularly gave Charlie Day another chance to shine and had some pretty funny lines sprinkled in through out. When the show goes out of context like that it can be hit or miss but that one certainly hit.

Double episodes to wrap the season tonight.
I think they got one season left from their last renewal; surely that will be it, right?

I think its been consistently funny but no awesome episodes. That being said, I usually re-watch the episodes and I always miss something, and I haven’t had the chance to do that yet.

I think next year may be their last. I believe it breaks a record with season 15?

After a rewatch, from best to worst

The Gang Gets Romantic
Paddy's Has a Jumper
Thunder Gun 4: Maximum Cool
The Janitor Always Mops Twice
Dee Day
The Gang Solves Global Warming
The Gang Chokes
The Gang Texts
A Woman's Right To Chop
Waiting For Big Mo

I thought Waiting For Big Mo was the least inspired episode of the entire series. Maybe the worst Sunny episode ever.

I saw what they trying to do with Waiting for Big Mo but it was a let down. They've done much better meta episodes before.

I have to rewatch the double finale again but I found the Thunder Gun episode to be the weakest. I really liked the Noir episode, Dee Day, and The Gang gets Romantic. The rest were fine but I would need to go through them all again for a ranking.

In Thunder Gun, when Charlie said, "He has a son?!" which causes the interviewer to freak out might have been my single favorite moment of the season.

I loved when Charlie finally couldn’t take it anymore and asked Dennis “Are we gonna get the caaaaandy?” I felt like last season Charlie wasn’t involved much so to see more of a focus on him was good. Its also a cheap laugh but when they cut to Charlie and Frank without pants in their room got me good.

Dennis had good moments this season but they’re a lot more subtle. Great, now I’m tempted to go back and watch them all this weekend.

It's probably my affinity for Becket and 'Godot' especially, but I think Waiting for Big Mo is one of their most inspired episodes. The writing is so sharp. As a parody/play of another piece of art (like they've done with so many movies) this is easily the most sophisticated and my personal favorite.

They manage to express the heart of the play, keeping true to the most powerful themes and plot beats, while still poking fun at the work and making it their own.

I ended up really liked S14 overall. Though, I do think they missed an opportunity to refine and mix things up coming off of the home stretch (and especially the finale of S13). Going back on the sentiments and character changes that end the previous season made S14 feel hollow and forced at times. Still, overall a good season with some great laughs.
