No but production on the prequel set in the future is rolling right along.

What about the sequel that’s set way in the past?

I bought the Blu Ray and finally watched the final season. Very uneven season. Up to the Battle of Winterfell and it's epilogue, I thought it was great. I really loved the Battle of Winterfell episode. Melisandre's reappearance was out-of-the-blue though. Daenerys unraveling was relatively well done, however, I think her unraveling fell short of burn-the-city-to-the-ground level of unraveling. Her war-mongering speech was a bit much and way out-of-character, even for unraveled Dany. There was too little to show that Jon would turn on Dany, let alone kill her. That could have used a bit more of set-up in the second half of the season. The Unsullied's role in the finale was bizarre. They're killing all of Dany's enemies, but when they get to Jon after he kills Dany, they arrest him? I think they would have slaughtered him immediately. Then the Unsullied have an opinion on Jon's punishment. Huh?

Lyanna Mormont may have had the best death of anyone in the series. Sansa telling Edmure to sit down was a great little moment in the finale.

I don’t necessarily disagree with anything you say here other than the Lyanna Mormont comment.

Anders wrote:"HBO has ordered a Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, straight to series.

The new prequel is written by Ryan Condal (Colony), with George R.R. Martin set to co-executive produce. The project is based on Martin’s 2019 book Fire and Blood, and is a history of House Targaryen (the ancestors of Daenerys) as they fight through a civil war. The 10-episode project is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

HBO executive Casey Bloys made the announcement at an event for HBO Max, AT&T’s streaming service coming May 2020."

Coming in 2022

this sounds promising. the wife has been mentioning a rewatch at some point, and i've just had no interest due to the final season mess. perhaps this is the remedy.

This thread should be deleted and all memory of this terrible series erased from our consciousness.

They got it completely backwards.

Somehow, when it’s all said and done, the inevitable fucking Clegane Bowl will have more consequence to this story than the NK.

How could you say this without seeing the final three episodes?

Here’s a cool GoT/NBA crossover shirt for you to buy, to commemorate this stupid episode.
