Even after seeing her survive the fire and her dragons born, he still would rather get a pardon from the Usurper than serve her.
He was a complicated man at that point searching for purpose in his life. He longed for a home he had to abandon because of his wife's expensive tastes. He was caught between that and finding a new home/purpose in something more real than the romanticized version of his home.
Exactly. He was more devoted to the idea of going home than he was devoted to Dany.
But it's very obvious which way he went and you're thicker than the wall if you think he's not devoted to her
If he hadn't made up his mind after seeing her survive the fire and hatch those dragon eggs, then fuck him. Qarth came after that and he was still sending reports to King's Landing.

That was my initial thought when watching. But thinking back, I think Yoren grabbed Arya right as things went south and she didn't actually see the execution or any of Sansa's reaction. I still think that particular plot line is shit right now though. I'm holding out hope that Arya is out-Littlefinger...ing Littlefinger and there's a twist coming. Otherwise it just seems like lazy writing.

1. where'd they get those massive chains to move the dragon?
2. who went underwater to secure those chains to the dragon? the wights can't cross 6 feet of water to fight the Avengers, but they can go underwater to lasso a giant dragon?

They can go underwater. The Night king made them wait cos he can see the future and knew Danyerys was coming with her dragons and knew he'd catch a dragon.
Don't get what's so hard to understand about that.
