Watched "Pets United" with the kids this weekend. Might be the first time I've actively disliked a children's movie. |

Though it has some wonderful visuals. This is every deltoro movie for me I love The Devil's Backbone, Blade II, and The Shape of Water. I think those are all wonderful. Pan's is the only one of his movies I've seen that doesn't work for me. |

The more I think about this, the more I liked it, beyond simply the aesthetics. I like how it doesn't remotely attempt to deliberately subvert expectations or draw in endless shades of grey. It's all played very sincere and straight. Man, that was a really great movie. |

I watched Cockfight on my flight home. I was a little self conscious during the cockfighting scenes, but it was an enjoyable watch. As usual the book was a lot better, but it was an interesting watch. They really struggled with consistent room tone lol. |

Yes, I think my phone must have autocorrected it on me. I'm hoping this book comes out some time soon - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cockfight#/ I'd also love to get my hands on a copy of Cockfighter Journal by Charles Willeford, but it's out of print and the only copies available are very expensive. |

Jorge wrote: Competencia Oficial. Had a really good time with this one. Funny and well written with some great performances. I recommend it to Joe especially. Trailer Just saw this and it's outstanding! I goddamn loved every minute of it. Seriously, this is the best film I've seen so far this year. Thank you again, Jorge, for the heads up. |
