We watched A Star is Born a couple weekends ago, upon my wife's demand. I thought it was slightly above average. Seemed somewhat amateurish. Overall, it was a tad entertaining. 6.0 out of 10.

Last weekend, we watched Bohemian Rhapsody. Also, slightly above average, maybe a little more so. 6.2587 out of 10.1.

Then we watched Christopher Robin. I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10 for my personal taste, but objectively, I'd say it's 8.5 out of 10. Pretty good. I'd want Ezzy Bare to see it. Lots of good little lessons in there and it was well acted for the most part.

Then we watched Zodiac. I think this is the third time I've seen it. I remember loving it but this time around I was mostly bored. 6.8 out of 10.

I watched A View To a Kill yesterday and it was hilarious. Definitely a bit long, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I couldn't even get through it when I tried to rewatch it recently

I watched it in two sittings, which helped. It was like watching two separate movies, one about horses and one about blimps

I followed it up with The Living Daylight's, which was a vastly superior film, but I enjoyed them about the same.

I'm very excited to revisit the Daltons

Have you seen Octopussy? I thought that one was lots of fun. Super inventive and entertaining, with some pretty incredible practical set-pieces.

I've only seen the two I watched yesterday, a couple of the Brosnan one's when they first came out and Casino Royale.

I'll watch Octopussy next.

Ahhh you’ve got a fun journey ahead of you then. Dr. No, Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - all terrific films.

Moonraker is probably the goofiest/silliest Bond ever, if you want more of that.

The First Purge.

Damn this one was fun and violent. And looked cool too. I love these movies.

Watched that Fyre Festival doco. Whilst the guy organising it was a complete waste of space, I can't say that I felt terribly sorry for any of the festival goers

I'm afraid to ask, but how'd you like The Golden Circle and Fate?

The Golden Circle surprised the hell out of me. I haven't seen the first one (never had much desire too, really), so I'm sure I missed some cool elements and references. But I liked it a lot. Fun characters. Wonderfully absurd action. Dug the fight choreography. Mark Strong is awesome. Julianne Moore (I didn't know/remember she was even in it) was fantastic. Pedro Pascal should be in everything.

Fate was good, too (though I probably, ultimately, liked it slightly less than TGC). Again, I've never seen any of the other films in the franchise, so I felt behind on the characters and wanted more explained/connected. As a result it felt very plot heavy without enough character grounding. But that's my own fault. I'm sure if I'd seen the others, I wouldn't have felt that way. The set pieces are fucking STUNNING. The action is tight and gripping and so much fun to watch. Theron and Statham are the standouts (performance wise). It actually made me want to go back and watch some of the other films in the series.

I like that both movies have super high stakes but manage to maintain a real sense of fun (and sometimes flat out absurdity) without ever veering into parody or disrespect of their genre.
