The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
This is true. It felt like it tried to skew Feminist at the end but hadn’t even hinted at that read until it started happening

The climactic concert performance sequence in Vox Lux is one of the most deeply unconvincing things I’ve ever seen in a movie. The way it’s staged and filmed, the choreography, Portman’s performance and vocals, the songs themselves...just...yeesh. It’s hard to watch.

Great opening, intense as hell. Then it slowly spirals into...whatever it wound up being. Didn’t like it by the end.

There were a few scenes in the trailer that grabbed my attention. But ultimately it was like yeah no.
This is basically my post from a month ago. Just...I don't know that there was a coherent movie in there. Not even incoherent either, somehow. It's just a thing. Some interesting parts but some not so much.
Wow. That was wonderful. So fucking terrifying. So fucking scary. Both Isabelle Huppert and Chloë Grace Moretz are so fucking good, with Maika Monroe coming just right after them.

One of the greats from this year for sure.
Yesssss
I agree it was scary; I was surprised by how freaked out I was during certain parts since usually only supernatural stuff gets to me. Huppert is just terrifying.

Somehow I just saw The Karate Kid for the first time. What a deeply satisfying movie. It has a level of patient, compassionate character development you rarely see.

I thought you hated movies with character development

Finally watching A Star is Born. I'll reserve comment on the movie until later but the Vedder influence on the Jackson Maine character jumps out immediately.
