A Few Good Men. More like A Few Good Scenes!
Kidding. It's good. Solid, well-crafted middlebrow courtroom drama with some great performances and Aaron Sorkin's least annoying writing. Tom Cruise has a "drunk scene" that's hilarious because he looks like a person who's never had a drop of alcohol in his life doing an impression of a belligerent drunk. Pretty funny

Hustle. Liked this a lot.
Been thinking about this. It’s two parts Rocky, one part Moneyball, so it’s not remotely original.
What really makes it work are Sandler, and the direction and editing. Apart from Meyerwitz Stories, it’s probably Sandler’s most “every day guy” role to date; there’s none of the overgrown man child stuff that’s been his schtick since Billy Madison. And the training montages and basketball scenes all have a palpable energy to them.
It’s funny that it’s taken him this long to take a swing like this, a down-the-middle underdog story with a more talented production crew.
Queen Latifah as his wife is an unintentionally funny concept.

Rewatchables made the same comment on that drunk seen. I agree it’s Sorkin’s best work.
Ok. The villains were suppose to seem rational but really weren’t and it got distracting

I didn’t find them especially irrational. What I loved was how rational the heroes were: trying to break through the drywall, the way they plan the attack on the guy when he would enter the room, literally anything to get free. Movies never do shit like what you would do in real life.

I still love it. One of my favorites.

You take that back you sonuvvabitch!!!
I don’t think it’s bad, per se; there’s a need for cool, confident characters in lots of stories, and he delivers that well. I just can’t think of a time he’s ever registered any sort of energy or charisma.

He’s great in Mrs Maisel
Yup, potentially his best character

I just watched a British crime/revenge movie called Avengement. It was a very simple story executed very well. They packed an unbelievable amount of action into 90 minutes.
