Its way more fantastic than scary, almost like a very fucked up Labyrinth. The FX are pretty cool and the first half of the movie is actually pretty good...than it kinda drags with the whole hell segment...but boy, there are some really fucked up moments, Kristy dressing in Julia´s skin, Frank trying to fuck Kristy in a weird segment with full bloody bodys coming in and out from some beds, that weird cenobite at the end...fucked up.

Are you gonna watch the rest of the series, VG? I love the Hellraiser movies, though obviously the quality varies wildly from entry to entry.
I've always thought of Hellbound as a fucked up Labyrinth too. Labyrinth is much better, though; unlike the original, Hellbound hasn't held up for me very well over the years.
yes, ill watch them at least until the 4th one and then im planning to see the one with Ashley Lawrence comeback. These first two were the only movies i saw back in the day.
Im a huge fan of the first film. Like i posted earlier it truly feels like a dangerous and evil thing to do, to watch it. Hellbound was alright, and yes i feel the first one is superior...i guess its a good sequel anyway, the pinhead backstory is ok and it really cool to see Julia and Frank again, the real monsters of these two movies along with the doctor in this sequel.

There's some cool stuff in the sequels; I wouldn't stop at four. Five is probably the second best one behind the original. The rest after five are all bad, unfortunately.
God what a beautiful movie. I loved pretty much everything about it, but Sam Elliot my god. How is that he wasnt nominated on every fucking award this plant has? Fucking oscars man. There is a scene were Elliot picks up his phone just to see some missed phone calls from his daughter and its just the best acting scene from the whole planet.

How is the animatronic stuff in this so bad? It looked so much better in JP1.
I’ll tell you the problem with JP3: it didn’t require any discipline to attain the technology used. They read what others had done and they took the next step. They didn’t earn the knowledge for themselves, so they didn’t take any responsibility for it. They stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as they could and before they even knew what they had - they patented it and packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and sold it as quick as they could.

Dunkirk. Technically marvelous but remarkably cold. That was probably the point, and i can appreciate it intellectually, but i much prefer the heart of Saving Private Ryan and the like.
