A Quiet Place. Stupid, fun B-movie, but definitely interested to see Jim Halpert's next directing project.

2018 has been the worst year for movies since I’ve been alive, and Peppermint is the worst one yet. Truly one of the worst things I’ve ever sat through.

The Greatest Showman. I generally don't like musicals because the songs can get in the way of the plot but this one has a very loose plot to begin with. I liked most the music and the dance routines and/or set pieces. A fun, light, "let's put on a show" flick that, for what it is, is particularly well done.

Yeah, that one was pretty good. We all liked it, and even listen to the soundtrack every now and then on long drives. That song that Jenny sang was probably the best one, and I was actually a little sad that it was lip-synched.

Like a lot of Linklater, the characters transcend the filmmaking technique. Steve Carrell has barely any lines, yet he owns the whole film. Despite being based on a book, it feels more like a play.

It's a road movie; a war movie (Vietnam and Iraq 2003); a film about men; about getting older and death; about regrets and looking forward; about religion; addiction... It's all of those things and none of those things, because it's really just four guys talking as they transport a body across the country.

Linklater gets a little schmaltzy at times, but then other scenes hit really hard. One scene in particular got me choked up -- Cicely Tyson outshines Carrell with about two minutes of screen time.

Unless you're a big Linklater fan; feeling particularly pensive; or maybe if you're a veteran (I'm just guessing), you can probably skip it. But I really enjoyed it, despite it being mostly a bummer.

I'd agree with pretty much everything you've written here. The movie is definitely a downer
I thought all the leads did a great job, although I thought Cranston's character was a bit under developed. Loved Carell and thought that Fishburne did a great job and for me it was his character that stayed with me for the longest.

I just watched this and it was actually pretty enjoyable. A very pleasant surprise.

'Swedish Nightingale' makes her US debut to rapturous acclaim

American showman extraordinaire P.T. Barnum has secured the Swedish singing sensation, soprano Jenny Lind, for a US concert tour and tonight's premiere in New York is met with a thunderous ovation. The press will dub the hubbub surrounding the singer's American debut, 'Lind mania.'

What the fuck? Is Jennifer garner a huge super star or something? I just went to a noon showing on a Tuesday to her dumb movie and it is packed! I thought it would be an empty theater but it looked like a Saturday night.

Oh, the movie was terrible. Like shockingly bad.
