adding a couple of movies to my list while the lady will beg one:
Hearts Beat Loud (im a sucker for this kind of thing) I think we're alone now - Peter Dinklage and Dakota Fanning
1. Is that the Nick Offerman thing? I heard him do an interview about that. On Fresh Air maybe? He sounded really excited about it, mostly because it was something really different for him. I'd be interested in seeing it.
2. My wife JUST told me about this movie two days ago. I still need to watch the trailer.
1) Yes! I was shocked to see him in the trailer. Music, record store, song writing, a story about adolescence and adulthood? in! 2) Aw huh. Randomly came across it on iTunes store last night and I can't wait to watch it.
Just watched the trailer for "I Think We're Alone Now" and I'm SUPER excited for that.
What can i say? What an amazing, visceral, poetic, violent, tender piece of art. Great photography, great camera work, great score...and Nic Cage guys. Nicolas Cage. His performance is way more intense than i thought. He reaches another level. His bathroom scene is just untouchable.

We watched that last week. There's a bit or two that seems dated but for the most part it holds up. I kind of wish Niles would have stuck around for Hellboy 2 but whatever.

Also got das boot and napoleon dynamite today and a west wing complete box set for €10. Delighted with em:)

The first time I watched Deadpool it was great because I was in the theater watching an R-rated comic book movie that was done by people who love the subject and in a crowd of people who also loved it. The second time was a few months later on DVD in my living room and it wasn't nearly as good. I've come to terms with the fact that I liked the meta of the movie way more than the movie, like the scene where he makes fun of Fox for only giving him two X-Men, or listening to people way smarter than I am about movies talk about it and how it did this and that right. The movie itself is passable but yeah, juvenile. If Ryan Reynolds could stop the awkward cursing and just swear like a normal person that would be a good step in the right direction.
I was in Best Buy and almost bought the 4k steelbook for pt2 but then I realized several things: I don't have a 4k player, nor television, nor any great desire to own pt2 when I don't own pt1. So that was $40 saved.
Side note: I'm starting to be able to recognize FOMO more and it's helping me from making dumb purchases.
As for Isle of Dogs: I loved the soundtrack...that was about it.
I like it enough, but i still think Blue Ruin is Jeremy Saulnier´s best movie. This is still an impressive thriller, with a cool twist near the beginning of the movie but after that it kinda drags and the characters turn somehow boring and weird. Looks awesome.
I would love someday to make a Wind River night along with this one.
