It might be a whole lot of nothing, though some people talk about it being "an open secret" in the comedy world like the Weinstein thing was "an open secret" in Hollywood. At least there's little enough information that we can all talk ourselves out of feeling bad for liking his stuff until more damning info comes out.

Is it wrong to enjoy someone's work of art if they're a monster in real life.....can the two be separated?

Yeah...we really dont know shit about the artists´s life.

Whether or not a work of art is good or bad has precisely zero to do with whether or not the artist is a good person. This really isn't complicated. Policing your own taste because of social guilt is insanity.

Everyone agrees (except Trag probably)

I think you can separate, but i would never fault someone for the inability to do so. We put a lot of our personal emotions and investment into these people that craft and sculpt our lives. If you should somehow be sickened by the artists behaviors and true ideals to the point of it impacting your enjoyment and belief in the art....

That's okay too. Everyone is different.

There's also a difference between "I can't like this because the person who made it is bad" and "I choose not to support this because (whatever)".

Why would he?!? What about your weird rape fantasy scenario would be incongruous with what he's saying?
