Okay, enough about Val.

seeing the picture of the cannonball loop was baffling

Apparently it was never opened (Cannonball Loop) but rumor has it that it did open for about a month. There is some video of people entering up top and coming out down below:

That whole story is fascinating. I would have gone there though.

I wish I had my young video podcast crew here for this but here’s my humble announcement that we begin TOPGUN2 tomorrow. Look past my stretched face selfie you’ll see a row of airplanes here in San Diego. It’s happening! And #TomCruise is as clear and SUPERCHARGED as always and this script is AMAZING. And #JOEKAMINSKI our director is inspired. And #JerryBruckheimer is almost mystic in his calmness as a producer. There’s a reason he’s the most successful producer EVER.
As soon as I get permission I’ll elaborate on where ICEMAN is in MAVERICKS world, but in my opinion it’s much more fun that the first time around.

What happened to his goddamn face?

Well I'm super excited about this, and Val's face!

It will be strange that Tom looks thirty years younger than Val.

Suspiria trailer. Also this sounds nothing like Thom Yorke.

Edit: I'm doing something wrong with the embed code, so:

Oh my god that looks great. Very smart that he’s clearly not trying to make it like the original at all.

Collider is reporting WB's shortlist for their new Willy Wonka (prequel?) movie. They're reporting Ryan Gossling, Donald Glover, and Ezra Miller are the leading names.

I like all of these names. All three give you vastly different options/takes on what this film could be.

But JESUS, I'd love to see Donald Glover in the role. I think he would be absolutely amazing as Willy Wonka.

After Solo, that terrible Deadpool animated script, and the new Childish Gambino song, I am more convinced than ever of Donald Glover's overratedness

So Bozeman finally -- FINALLY -- gets a film festival, their first ever International Film Festival. From their site:

Explore all BZN International Film Festival has to offer at its inaugural event this June 7-10. These Narrative Features celebrate women in film, promote environmental subjects and embody the BZN spirit to ignite passion and encourage activism. Check out our more than 55 films from around the world and plan your BZN experience!

So this thing has a highly political/social agenda. And of the 55 films, only six of them are feature-length narrative fiction; the rest are environmental and SJW docs. Only one of the feature-length narrative flicks looks interesting, but it's playing Friday at noon, which means I can't make it. There's also a 5-minute short on Sat morning about the history of hats that could be fun.

This is what passes for culture in Montana. Fucking echo chamber for white saviors who fly fish on the weekends.
