Yeah actually, Monkey Warfare was the very first movie I watched at the Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival in 2006 so it's a pretty significant movie for me. I shook Reginald Harkema's hand and it was so sweaty.
But yeah, Tu Dors Nicole, Vic and Flo Saw a Bear, The Suburbanators, stuff like Les Demons... lots of my favorite dirt-cheap indies are from Canada for some reason

Anyone going to watch “Crimes of the Future”? Apparently people are walking out at Cannes due to it’s content
this is so weird...so they look at the trailer, the poster, the ¨directed by david cronenberg ¨ part, they read the news about David saying¨ ey, this is going to be divisive ¨ but they still go to see it and walk away
Only the press screening had people walk out, the premiere audience had none and garnered a standing ovation.

Latest Kelly Reichardt film just got a great review at Cannes. I’m especially interested in this one as I know a number of people who attended OCAC when I lived in Portland, so I’m familiar with the setting.
