oh yeah, i just looked at Rotten Tomatoes and that does seem to be the case. I still think it looks awful, but if a couple trusted friends tell me otherwise I'll check it out.

I was going to say that the only unappealing thing about it is Ben Affleck's blonde hair, but I just re-watched the trailer and I can see how the whole movie might actually be insufferable. The blonde hair kind of looks good, in fact

The Last Duel
have you seen it?
i hope i never do. It honestly looks like the fake trailer before Tropic Thunder.
I'm shocked at the caliber of people involved in this. Looks like a disaster.

Collider's review opens with:
Quote:
At first glimpse, it looks like The Last Duel could be a deeply cringe-worthy experience. Its subject matter involves two men fighting over a rape accusation. The director is a man and two of the three screenwriters are men. But this high-wire act ends up yielding one of the best films of Ridley Scott’s industrious career as he uses his period drama bona fides to draw us deeper into a brutal, nasty, masculine-dominated world that’s far too familiar to our own.
I like this reviewer generally, so I am coming around.
