Firing Gunn is ridiculous but in today's climate any studio would have fired him its not a Disney thing.

I feel like it's a Disney thing. Mostly because the other studios couldn't afford the hit to their schedules. Maybe not though. It's a weird time.

Gunn should sue for defamation. Cernovich keeps falling him a pedophile over and over.

Unless there's something else to see here... I would absolutely do everything legally possible to Cernovich, yes.

If some enraged Marvel fanboy murders Mike Cernovich for ruining GOTG 3, it will be the first good thing nerd culture has ever given to the world

Well, I'm not gonna go that far. GOTG 3 might be better off.

Didn't Gunn publicly apologize for the tweets years ago?

Thanks VG. Yeah, I'm really excited for this because it sounds like it will actually be FUN, not a hollow reboot like the late 90s/early 2000s stuff, nor the cold and detached blood porn that Zombie made. This sounds like it has a heart to it, which is exactly what I need in my horror flicks.

All the palm trees in Halloween really detract from my enjoyment of the movie these days.

“Heart” seems like a very odd thing to want in a horror movie

Maybe not the right word, but I need to care about the characters, and some light humor helps too. It's why I thought It was so effective, and why I can't stand stuff like Hostel.

I think it all has a place.

No doubt, I just don't want to watch it. There's enough misery in the world. I get a thrill from watching good characters get butchered, and maybe crack a couple jokes.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre still stands as the most effective horror flick I've ever seen. Believable characters, a brutal killer, high stakes. Feels like a documentary. Totally different experience for me than watching the fuckwits that Eli Roth usually sends to the gallows, but I can still appreciate his work.
