Three directors doubled up on my list. Bong, Safdie, and Lowery
I still need to see Okja. It's on Netflix I just keep putting it off.

Always surprises me when someone ranks Wild Tales that highly
i kinda hate that movie. Saw it when it came out and never went back.
You guys don’t like it?
When I saw it (I’m guessing in 15-16), I was unprepared, had not read anything about it. Had that and another movie on dvd for a Friday night alone. Made some good food, and put it on. It instantly had me both laughing and intrigued. Thought it was excellent.
I know I'm missing a ton of stuff. I had this list up to 40 before I decided to stop adding and start cutting. This is my first pass attempt at this...

I thought I was going to hate A Ghost Story but it wrecked me.

Capernaum 1917 Get Out Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Rogue One: A Star Wars Story What Will People Say Brawl In Cell Block 99 Sami Blood Room The Worst Person in the World Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) Gone Girl The Hunt Wild Tales Zootopia Ford v Ferrari American Hustle Bohemian Rhapsody Django Unchained The Martian Wind River Call Me By Your Name Parasite Joker Promising Young Woman
Still got plenty of movies to see from these years. I’ve focused as much, or more, on seeing older movies, as newer ones.

These four could have easily made my list. I really thought about SoM.

Birdman, OTOH, is a movie I remember enjoying from a director I generally like with a talented cast and I couldn't even begin to tell you what it's about. I only remember the final shot. So it didn't make it.

Finally, an inclusion of Parasite! Instant classic, truly great. Also happy to see 1917. That movie just works so well. I think I saw it twice in theatres, and then once or twice again at home. Very compelling

The final shot is the first shot. It's only one shot (unlike 1917, which is clearly two shots, regardless of what they try to tell you)

Yeah the fact that I didn't remember this either means I made the right choice. Clearly it didn't make a strong impression on me.
