Frighteners (1996) Spy Game (2001) Pearl (2022) X (2022) Infinity Pool (2023) The French Connection (1971) The Final Girls (2016) House (1977) Bringing out the Dead (1999) Killer Joe (2011)
I was sick over the weekend so I watched a lot of movies this week. It's a really tough call between French Connection, Bringing out the Dead and Pearl. I think I'll give it to Pearl because it's the one I've thought the most about since seeing it.

House was great. Really crazy and imaginative.
I liked Infinity Pool well enough. I thought the performances were good and it was crazy enough to keep me engaged for 2 hours. Possessor was better though.

Reptile on Netflix with benecio del toro.
Goddamn riveting. I loved it. Incredible performance. He and Alicia silver stone were great
A few pieces not wrapped up but overall I couldn't take my eyes off the screen
I lost access to my sister's Netflix account after not using it for years and now I feel like I hear about a Netflix movie I'd like to watch every dang day.

Blindspotting Leave No Trace Boy Erased The Guilty Solo
Blindspotting was the best movie this week. Tense, serious, funny, moving, and even hilarious at times. One of the best of 2018.
I've never heard of it. It is sounds good and it's on Max so I'm adding it to my list.
Been a great week for movies. Finished all rewatches for 2018, had saved the best for last.
BlacKkKlansman If Beale Street Could Talk Bohemian Rhapsody Upgrade Searching Capernaum Green Book Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Avengers: Infinity War
Capernaum is probably the best movie from the entire year. My least favorite thing about it, is the conclusion of the trial. But some of the earlier scenes are incredibly powerful and well done. The cast is very autenthic, and was cast with that in mind, themselves immigrants and street kids in Lebanon. Was surprised to find out the lead actor now lives in Norway, which I did not now until this week, and had no part of how I judged the movie. He and his family got help, after he starred in this movie.
While Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse does have superheroes, supervillains, multiverses, Peter Porker and other stuff like this, it is just incredibly well done. So vivid and well told. I saw it for a second time yesterday, and loved it as much this time as the first.
Bohemian Rhapsody is also a huge favorite of mine. Love the music in the movie, the excellent cast, and the way the history of a group is told. If ever a movie about Pearl Jam is made, I hope it is as respectful and well told. Biggest minus is them changing a few historic facts, which only takes away from the movie, and was not needed.
The Purity Of Vengeance The Night Comes For Us Holiday The Platform Keep An Eye Out The Predator The 15:17 to Paris
Not the greatest list of movies above, but all the movies above were enjoyable. Some of the action in The Night Comes For Us was great, and The Purity Of Vengeance is a pretty good Danish crime thriller. Best thing I saw all week was the miniseries Sharp Objects, and watching the solid Midnight Mass now.
All the movies on my list a week ago were better, no real standouts in my list this week, unless you count Sharp Objects, which while flawed, I found fascinating. Great performance by Amy Adams.
If you want an all out Asian based action movie, The Night Comes For Us, might be what you are looking for, only wish the story was better.
The Purity Of Vengeance is part of a series of Danish crime movies. If you’re going to see them, start with the first one.
