I haven't seen any of these Disney live action movies, not even the Guy Ritchie one

I saw Aladdin (the Guy Ritchie one) and Lion King. Both terrible. I also watched the Camila Cabello version of Cinderella but that's not Disney.

Truthfully, the Jungle Book remake I kind of liked.

What did you think of Ritchie’s King Arthur?

I haven’t seen that in a long time. It was interesting, but I don’t remember many details

One thing that’s crazy about the “live action” Disney remakes is how fucking long they are, especially compared to the originals.

The Little Mermaid animated was 83 minutes, the remake is 135 minutes.

Beauty and the Beast grew from 84 minutes to 129.

Lion King went from 88 minutes to 118.

That’s too damn long.

Little Mermaid shaping out to land at about $125M domestic over the four-day holiday weekend. Not Lion King numbers, but really good compared to other Disney live action remakes. It'll probably land behind Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, both of which had star power on top of general Disney power. I've got to imagine Disney is happy with these numbers

is that comparison adjusted for inflation? when Aladdin was a movie, you could still buy things for $5. now everything costs $20+

Tickets were in the 8-9 dollar range then they are 12-14 now. That's national average it could vary obviously. If you look at the three day numbers they compare to Ant-Man. It's not as good as it looks on the surface. Won't really know till after next weekend how it will fair.

Fast X cost 340 million to make. That one's gonna struggle.

I liked it too. Then I saw Lion King and that one was not good at all.
