The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Sorry if this thread exists, but damn this looks good

Hope its good for the faithful but I could easily go the rest of my life without watching another end of the world zombie show where the survivors are various degrees of awful.

I still don't understand what the point of this is. The demographic is people who know the video game franchise, who've played the games, which are already immersive cinematic experiences in of themselves. I'd rather play the games again than just watch all the cutscenes again with different actors.

I think they're looking for a much broader audience, not just people familiar with the franchise.

Yeah the narrative was only fresh in that it was so well-executed for a video game at the time of its release, it felt like "wow, this is just like a movie!".. but now this kind of narrative even in a video game is worn out

So many narratives are played out or cliche after centuries of storytelling. This game still works for me because of the strength of the characters. If the show nails that dynamic, I'm sure a lot of people will be moved by it.
I'm as skeptical as anyone about this. In fact, I've yet to see any quality video game to TV/movie adaptation...everyone I can think of has been awful. That said, The Last of Us is cleaning UP on rotten tomatoes. Holding a 98% rating right now. Promising
