It will distract you for a couple of hours

okay, will it teach me any life skills?

for instance...after i watched The Grifters i learned how to beat the shit out of someone without giving them visible bruises.

will i learn anything?

Depends on your appreciation for filmmaking techniques. Lots to be enjoyed in that aspect.

Otherwise, it will deepen your appreciation for Val Kilmer, and make most other heist movies seem very light in comparison.

I was in the same boat until about a month ago when my local theater was showing the first one.

It was much better than I expected it to be.

Imagine seeing Boogie Nights without having seen Goodfellas. Probably thinking "wow this PTA guy sure has a novel take on storytelling!"

quite possible, except you enjoy brown liquor and are likely 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x better than me at throwing a baseball and hitting.

i've barely watched boogie nights.

licorice pizza might be the only pta film i've watched in its entirety.
