We’ve not watched the finale yet, but if the story resolves like it looks like it will I don’t see how it keeps going. Plus, we’ve already made all the way back to the very first scene of the series and that seems like an indicator that things are ending.

Like season one, it started off reasonably strong before devolving into idiocy broken up by a strong scene here and there. It’s bizarre; it feels like everyone involved got high and forgot how to do their jobs. Actors, writers, directors, second unit, Ken Watanabe’s haircuts, etc.

The show felt strongest when focused on the inner workings of the yakuza. Jake and his girlfriend ain’t it.

I also think it’s done but, if they do a season three, I’d like to see it run by a singular talent better capable of steering the ship hands-on, from start to finish. Ditch the newspaper element and Egort, and go all-in on Sato and the gumis.

I just binged the first two seasons over the last month or so and really enjoyed it.

I think they left a little room for a third season.

Agree it got a little too predictable in some areas, but I think it was still a strong show.
