Cool thread, bro.
Its OK to not have your significant other dictate what you watch. Sayin'.
If you're reading Spike, please go back to being not-lame. thx.

Far be it from me to replicate the recommendations from a former board member, but based on things I have learned while lurking, Homicide: Life on the Street is a worthwhile viewing experience.

Thanks, but I have never been a fan of police procedurals other than "Millennium" and it was the interesting doomsday mythology that attracted me to that one. There were some seriously good actors on Homicide though, I can understand why it's so popular.

Thinking more of stuff flying under the radar.
I think it would be safe to say that outside of one poster, Homicide is a great example of flying under the radar.

Orange is the New Black on Netflix. Not great, but pretty good. From the woman who created Weeds, so if you liked that (or the first three seasons, anyway, before they hired outside producers and it went to shit), you might like this too

Do you have Netflix? If so, Arrested Development if you haven't seen it is a good option. House of Cards is pretty good from what I've seen so far.
When I'm bored, and nothing is on TV, I'll re-watch old X-File shows, that's also streams on Netflix. If you haven't seen The Wire, that's a helluva a show to get into.
Netflix also has some good docs, I"d recommend Park Avenue.
I'd stay away from How I Met Your Mother, it sucks.
I've been addicted to Bar Rescue lately, it's on Spike, and they pretty much air it all day on Sunday's.
