Besides Jurassic Park, is there a film series or franchise out there for which everyone agrees that the first movie is the best of the lot, hands down? I have never, ever heard anyone try to make the case that any of the other JP films come close to sniffing the original.

Beverly Hills Cop Die Hard The Matrix
Good candidates. I think The Matrix is a good comparison to JP, as it exists in the same sort of "huge hit that helped alter the landscape of major movies," and for most people the sequels were huge WTFs.

I’ve see the first Jurassic World movie to know this was going the way of the fast and the furious.
JP 1 seemed to be the most realistic of the series. Nothing too nuts, well except for dinosaurs.
The trailer for this latest World movie has unrealistic cycle chases, and a character doing an impossible leap from building top to building top. Of course she probably runs from it like nothing happens.
I’m waiting for a velociraptor to take control of a car and chase the main characters off the top of a parking garage , fight in mid air, then crash into a skyscraper and still get up and continue a fight.

The only interest I would have in any more of these movies is if they went the way of Planet of the Apes and jumped into the future where the Dinosaurs completely rule the world and there are just small pockets of humans trying to survive.

I read the Lost World the day it came out, thought “wow what an obvious lazy money grab,” went and saw the movie a few months later and thought “wow actually the book wasn’t so bad.”

There was a summer somewhere in the mid-90s when I listened to the Lost World on audio cassette. I honestly cannot remember anything about how it was different than the movie.

Beverly Hills Cop Die Hard The Matrix
Agreed, although the first three Die Hard movies are great.
Pirates Of The Caribbean Tremors Police Academy Revenge Of The Nerds The Hangover
Did anyone watch that movie Crawl from a few years ago, where these people get caught in a hurricane and there's a massive flood and there's alligators everywhere?

Beverly Hills Cop Die Hard The Matrix
Planet of the Apes The Godfather
That’s not to say the sequels are garbage or anything.

Both The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2 is in the running for the best movie ever.

Planet Of The Apes is a very good one.
Can’t disagree with anything you’ve said.
