I was wondering what they were trying to say with that scene. I'm sure it was supposed to be positive like everything else but it went over my head.

I liked that scene. Jamie's got a weird relationship with women and sex in general, fairly detached, almost utilitarian in how he seems to approach sexual relations. The story about his dad and the prostitute, and then that scene with his mom, helps detail the backstory I think.
