The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

While the series gets so much better than the pilot, and i like how fun it is, its also not that different...even visually, its kinda the same as the first episode.
I guess my biggest grip with this series is how uniform the whole thing is visually. There were some cool framing in season 2 and thats kinda it.
Again, Better Call Saul is on another level.
Still this one is really fun.
The thing that gets me about how this is shot is the quick, almost soap opera like zoom ins. They’re not a gradual thing at all. They’re just like, BAM! zoom in. Them BAM! a little closer and BAM! even closer yet. I can’t think of another show that does it that way.

(which, again, I found incredibly drab and dull, especially on a visual level,
Interesting because I find BCS one of the most beautifully shot shows I've ever watched. I think the thoughtfulness and artistry of its framing is one of its key strengths and what really puts it over the edge in comparison to the middle-shot drudgery of most TV, prestige or otherwise

Yeah I agree that it's shot like The Office
Hey, you’re right. It feels different in the dramatic setting vs the comedy tho.

i've never seen a single episode of Better Call Saul, and maybe...maybe the first three episodes of Breaking Bad.
why are we comparing a show about meth to a show about an awful wealthy media conglomerate?
are you basing it off of the critical acclaim those shows have received v. what succession is also receiving?
BCS isn’t about meth AT ALL.
oh, well...I know it's a prequel or whatever to Breaking Bad, which is why I lumped meth in there.
BCS is so much better than BB it’s not even fair to compare the two. I can’t recommend BCS strongly enough. Yes, the first season goes slow, but man are there payoffs later.

I have a working pet theory that Argentines in particular love Better Call Saul. I was down there in 2015 and everyone I knew kept raving about the first season (which, again, I found incredibly drab and dull, especially on a visual level, though the ending was good).
well i would say BCS is pretty loved worldwide. But my brother and dad loves it, my girl loves it, a friend of mine too...maybe it is loved here. Who knows.
Visually its stunning, and thematically too, i cant believe its a spin off actually.
I started it with season one finished because of that reason, and boy i was wrong.

I can’t decide if Tom is just an incompetent that was given a job because of Siobhan or if he is actually some sort of good businessman. The rank he’s risen to suggests the latter but he sure is a buffoon.
We’re up to the Season 2 finale btw

He's a buffoon and a weirdo, but I don't think he's dumb. He seems pretty savvy.

He seems savvy like he’s watched a bunch of 80s movies about yuppies and business. Only in the broadest sense of the term.
